Your Private Estate Chef serves private households. We understand that discretion is not a feature — it is a fundamental requirement. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate our placement service:

Families: Name, contact information, household location (city/region), dietary requirements, service preferences, and billing information.
Chefs: Name, contact information, culinary credentials, certifications, insurance documentation, work history, and banking/payment details for compensation.
Usage data: How you interact with our website and platform (anonymized analytics only).

2. How We Use Your Information

To match Families with appropriate Chefs based on preferences and requirements.
To verify Chef credentials and maintain network standards.
To process placement fees and service billing.
To communicate placement updates, service notices, and network news.
To comply with legal obligations.

3. Confidentiality of Household Information

We treat all household information as strictly confidential. Chef profiles shared with Families and Family profiles shared with Chefs include only the information necessary to facilitate the introduction. Full personal details, home addresses, and sensitive household information are never shared without explicit consent.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only:

Between matched Families and Chefs, to the extent necessary to facilitate placement.
With payment processors (Stripe) for billing purposes.
With legal authorities when required by law.
With service providers who support our operations, under strict confidentiality agreements.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secured servers hosted in Canada. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. Access to personal data is restricted to authorized YPEC personnel only. We retain your data for as long as your membership is active plus 7 years for legal compliance purposes.

6. Chef Background Checks

Background check results are stored securely and accessible only to authorized YPEC administrators. Results are never shared with Families — only a pass/verification status is disclosed.

7. Your Rights (PIPEDA & BC PIPA)

Under Canadian privacy law, you have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you.
Request corrections to inaccurate information.
Withdraw consent for non-essential data use.
Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements).

8. Cookies

Our website uses essential cookies only — for session management and security. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not participate in ad networks.
